This week, members of the fire department drove out to Smith Ln. for more pump training and hand line operations.  This week, the objective of our training was to see how much water could be supplied by our 5 portable pumps.  In some very rural areas, portable pumps may be necessary to supply water to a fire.  This could be used as a primary or secondary source.  In the end, the 5 portable pumps sustained enough water to flow a total of 1300 gpm from a deck gun, a 3 inch line supplying 2- 1 3/4 hand lines, and a 2 1/2 inch hand line.
