Fatal Train vs Vehicle MVA 5/23/2011

0951hrs Station 66 and 1 were dispatched to the Main St RR Crossing for an MVA Vehicle vs Train.  E112 and R141 responded along with 2 EMS units from 66 coming on the north side of the tracks and Topton EMS coming in on the South Side.  R2541 was requested to the scene due to them being on the north side of the tracks but were recalled.   101 and PD arrived on scene of the W Penn Av RR Crossing with vehicle parts found but no vehicle. 105 arrived on scene at the Smith Ln RR crossing and located the vehicle at the front of the train. All apparatus was redirected to the new location.  The Coroner was requested to the scene and one person was confirmed dead.  Crews stood by while PD and the Coroner did their investigation and towing removed the vehicle.  E112 handled a spill at the original point of impact.  Station 25 Fire police assisted with diverting due to multiple crossings being blocked.
