Terrain Rescue Training at the Alburtis Rod and Gun Club

Saturday, May 9th, at 1230hrs, The Alburtis Vol. Fire Dept. and The Macungie Ambulance Corps participated in a Terrain Rescue Drill at the Alburtis Rod and Gun Club property.  Crews arrive on scene and found the complainant standing by.  Crews found that 3 hunters did not return home last evening.  In all, one hunter was found approx. 40 yards in the wooded area with minor injuries.  The remaining two hunters were found approx. 75 yards in the woods with severe trauma and hypothermia.  A low grade haul system was setup, EMS provided treatment and all patients were extricated within 1 hour and 40 minutes.  All participants enjoyed the training.  Thank you to everyone who came out on a Saturday afternoon for some additional training.
